The name "da7id" is based on the influential novel Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. In the book, Da5id is one of the original programmers and founders of the Metaverse, an immersive online internet environment that only the leetest were initially a part of. Since Da5id was a serious programmer as well as musician, David Barron decided to use his name as inspiration for his own, while changing the 5 to a 7 (which looks more like a 'v' anyway) it to make it unique.
